What to expect
Care at Tully Clinic is designed to look at health through a whole-person lens. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, treatment focuses on understanding the underlying patterns that may be contributing to imbalance.
Your care may include a combination of:
- acupuncture
- herbal medicine
- functional and East Asian nutrition guidance
- lifestyle and nervous system support
Treatment plans are individualized. Two people with the same diagnosis may receive different recommendations depending on their constitution, health history, and current patterns in the body.
Many people are unsure what acupuncture will feel like, especially if it is their first time.
Acupuncture needles are extremely thin — much finer than the needles used for injections. Most patients feel little to no discomfort when they are inserted. Some people notice a brief sensation such as warmth, heaviness, tingling, or a mild dull ache around the point. These sensations are normal and often indicate that the body is responding to treatment.
Once the needles are in place, many patients feel deeply relaxed during the treatment. It is common to experience a sense of calm, warmth, or even fall asleep. If at any time during treatment you feel uncomfortable, adjustments can always be made. The goal is for the treatment to be both therapeutic and comfortable.
Healing is often a gradual process. Treatment is designed to support the body’s ability to regulate, repair, and maintain balance over time.
